Ace Joinery was founded by Allan Wright in 2002.
Allan was an ambitious self-employed joiner who was awarded his first contract with Carevalue Limited, working on Sandaire House in Kendal, Cumbria. The contract was a conversion of offices to flats and industrial units on the ground floor. It was very challenging, but due to Allan's drive, skills, outgoing and friendly attitude the team produced amazing results.
Once Ace Joinery successfully completed this contract Allan started tendering for new work and won several contracts working with companies such as Cox and Allen Builders, Eric Wright Group, Robert Hughes Limited.
As success continued, Allan's team of joiners soon expanded as he carefully selected hard working, good quality joiners, that would ensure that customers continued to receive same high level of service that Carevalue Limited received during the first contract.
As the business grew greater administrative and accounting support was needed and thus Allan’s wife joined the business full time. Ellie has been key in developing effective administrative systems to ensure that the back office works in synergy with the site teams. During this time Allan’s younger brother John was also studying for a career in the industry and qualified as an Architectural Technologist in 2003. Keen to grow the family business, Allan’s brother gained industry experience in his field before also joining the firm in 2008. John has joined at an exciting time when Ace Joinery seeks to enter developing and new markets. Both his knowledge and experience will be vital in developing existing relationships but also in progressing into new areas and building new relationships.
Ace Joinery's expansion has been supported enormously by our trainee Quantity Surveyor; Mike Jackson. Mike's skills and drive slot into the business perfectly and ensures the smooth running of our on-site teams. As the business continued to grow a decision was made to employ a Project and Administration Co-ordinator; Lisa MacPhee. Lisa's loyal, friendly and helpful attitude was a perfect finish to the office team. In addition to the office staff Ace Joinery have 2 apprentices and on average use 35 fulltime joiners per week.
